This is a good walk down the final part of the Clyde river before it runs through the Glasgow City Centre. It is therefore a pretty charming walk on a good surface. This is another perfect winter walk. The scenery is pretty good too.

Easy
It is said that The British Empire's three most important rivers is The Thames, The Nile and River Clyde. This walk is therefore on "holy ground", so to speak.
A perfect post-serious illness walk (combined with a visit to a dentist in Dalmarnock). I did it just after a serious operation and it rekindled my interest in life again. The surface is excellent and requires no special shoes or even clothes. Even office attire is suitable for this walk. This walk was my introduction to river walks. The type of walks I am now really enjoying. This is therefore, you guessed it, a very good introduction to the noble form of walking... river walks.

Train to Dalmarnock train station 4-6 times an hour from Glasgow Central Station (lower and upper level).
The walk starts at the Dalmarnock train station. Follow the Dalmarnock Road to the right, down to River Clyde. Just before the bridge over River Clyde, take the stairs down to the river and the path along the river. The landscape is pretty scenic during the first couple of miles and river bends.

The river is slowly entering the city centre and the path passes some sports grounds and then Glasgow Green. The path is really good here.

The landscape opens up a lot here and the river has now entered the city centre. Follow the river under and over some bridges before the path ends at the railway bridge at Glasgow Central Station. Take Oswald Street up to Glasgow Central Station.

Train or bus back home again from this bus and train hub.
Enjoy the walk !!
