Renfrewshire

3 miles / 5 km

A flat walk on some tarmac and gravel roads. This is the easiest shortcut between Paisley and Linwood.

Easy

The walk is flat all the way. There are 400 yards/meters on a muddy path here. The rest is OK although the Linwood Recycling Centre can be very smelly at times. Good shoes are recommended. This is not a bad walk at all and this is another good walk in the winter.

McGills Bus 7A from Paisley Town Hall 2-4 times an hour.
Take the bus to the roundabout next to the Tannahill Centre in Ferguslie Park. The bus stop is next to the yellow now closed police station in Ferguslie Park. Jump off the bus there.
Take the Blackstoun Road to the right and continue that road towards and under the A 737 motorway. From there, continue straight on and ignore the road to the left. The landscape is actually pretty scenic here. This despite the traffic noise from the two motorways and the noise from the nearby Glasgow Airport. The Glasgow to Gourock railway line is also nearby. It is still pretty idyllic here.

I am sorry. No pictures was taken on this walk.
I will try to get some pictures as soon as I do this walk again

After crossing the bridge over the Black Cart River, take the road to the left. The tarmac is soon replaced by some mud before the gravel takes over again.
This is a pretty good walk for first next 1 mile/ 2 km. The path ends up at Middleton Road and goes past Linwood Recycle Centre before it ends up in Linwood at Moss Road. Take the Bridge Street to the left and continue down this street to Linwood Tesco and the end of the walk.
McGills bus 7/7A back to Paisley 2-4 times an hour.
McGills bus X7 back to Braehead/Glasgow 1-2 times an hour.

Enjoy the walk !!
