A flat walk along the seaside from Gourock train station to Greenock.

Easy
A flat, charming walk (mostly) along the seaside through Battery Park and then the Greenock Esplanade to Greenock. The path is tarmac and very good. The walk follows the main road on a good pavement for a couple of hundred yards/meters between Battery Park and the Greenock Esplanade. The scenery is superb along the whole walk.

Train from Glasgow Central Station/Paisley to Gourock 2 times an hour.
McGill's Bus 901 from Glasgow Buchanan Bus Station/Braehead to Gourock 4 times an hour.
The walk starts from the train station. Follow the path past the CalMac Gourock - Dunoon and Gourock - Kilcreggan ferry, past the CalMac headquarters on the Tarbet Street until the path peels of the road along the shore at the right bend. Follow the path to the children play area (a play area also very popular among the local swans) at Battery Park. Follow the esplanade/path along the seafront all the way around this park.

Follow the road back to the Eldon Street, the main Gourock - Greenock road. Take this road to the left on a good pavement until the walk reaches the signposted Greenock Esplanade. Take the road/pavement down to the seafront again and Greenock Esplanade proper.

The walk along this esplanade, the seafront, is very good with some great views too. Follow the esplanade to the end.

Just before the container harbour, Campbell Street take you back to the main road again and the bus stops to the left where this walk ends.
McGill's bus 901 to Glasgow/Braehead/Greenock or back to Gourock train station 4 times an hour.
Enjoy the walk !!
