Easy but long

This is an easy walk on a good tarmac path. It is much used by cyclists, so beware of them. This walk is slightly more scenic than the Paisley to Lochwinnoch walk. It is still a walk which leaves a lot to be desired. The path is suffering a bit from bad maintenance.



Train from Glasgow Central Station upper level/Paisley/Kilwinning 2 - 3 times an hour.

The walk starts from the Lochwinnoch train stop. Walk to the scenic village Lochwinnoch and, if you have not already done so, buy some bottles of soft drinks here before taking the path signposted Glengarnock and Kilbirnie.
The path is flat with some sporadic interesting scenery and views along the way until the path ends at a fence next to an industrial area. Follow the road/pavement to the right. After 150 yards/meters, take first road down to the right, under a disused railway line and then the first road to the left. The road ends up in the Glengarnock village centre and the railway station where this walk ends.

Train to Glasgow/Paisley/Kilwinning 2 -3 times an hour

McGills bus 904 to Paisley/Largs 1 time an hour
