An easy, yet scenic, funny walk starting from the Maryhill Lochs with a short detour to the Kelvin River Aqueduct before the good paths takes the walk down the river to the Transport Museum and then over the bridge to Govan. Good shoes and plenty of water are recommended. This is a walk I do every January as the start of the walking season. This walk is also perfect for an outing for the whole family. This walk is the finest walk in Glasgow.

Bus 17/61 from Hope Street, the bus stop next to Pure Gym and the Central Station to Maryhill Locks 4 times an hour.

Jump of the bus at the Maryhill Locks, the first bus stop after the bus has passed under the Clyde & Forth Canal. Cross the canal on a footbridge and then walk down the locks.

Walk down the locks and past the River Kelvin path - Clyde & Forth Canal towpath crossroad the 10 yards/meters to the impressive River Kelvin Aqueduct and observe the river from this vantage point. Then retrace your steps again to the River Kelvin path - Clyde & Forth Canal towpath crossroad and then take the zig-zag path down to the right to the river. Then follow the river. The path passes the Kelvin Hall and the path ends up in Ferry Road. Follow this road until the railway bridge. Cross under the railway bridge and then take the path to the right and then back again to River Kelvin and under the motorway bridge. Follow the path to the Transport Museum who, when open (it always is), has free entrance (and free public toilets). This museum is interesting and the staff is very friendly. It is well worth a visit.
Cross over River Clyde on the new'ish white bridge to Govan and the bus and underground station there.

Bus to Glasgow/Braehead/Paisley 6 times an hour.
Underground to Partick/Glasgow 6 times an hour.
